Foreword
Based on-assessment of pollution load, action points have been identified in respect of some problem areas in the country. For monitoring their implementation, it is necessary to determine the source specific status and trends.

This report deals with industry-wise pollution control status in Greater Cochin (Kerala) and Bhadravati (Karnataka) .It entails information on the pollution control facilities which have been installed in various industrial units in these areas. A review of the follow-up measures to be taken in regard to the action points has also been presented in the report.

The report has been brought out on the basis of on-site visits and information collected by Shri H.K. Karforma, Senior Environmental Engineer. Co-operation extended by various industries and concerned State Pollution Control Boards are gratefullyacknowledged.
