Foreword
The presern report on Design and Operating Parameters of Electrostatic Precipita- tors (ESP) wns prepared by a committee constituted by the Central Board under the Chairmanship of Dr. tata Rao. The report also contains a review of performance of ESPs already installed in the country and discusses reasons for the poor performance of some of them. The discussion is followed by suggested measures to improve and maintain the initial good performance of ESPs. I believe the report would be useful for the Thermal Power Plants in the selection, operation and .maintenance of ESPs.
