Dust Pollution from Stone Crushers (Sohna Tourist Camp) Gurgaon Distt. Haryana

                                                Foreword
The town Sohna is situated on the Delhi-Alwar Highway in Gurgaon District of Haryana State, at a distance of 56 kilometre from Delhi. It is a tourist complex besides having a hOt spring. Existence of several stone crushers sur- rounding this town resuJts in dust pollution to the ne ighbourhood. On rece ipt of repeated complaints from the people of the area as channelised from the Department of Environment, Government of India, to the Central Board for the Prevention and Control of Water Pollution, the Air Pollution Control Cell (APCC) of the Central Board attempted to evaluate the status of dust pollution with a view. to evolving implementable remedial measures. The APCC worked in the area during June 23-25, 1983 and again during July 7-8, 1983

The investigating team comprising Shri S.B. Singh and Shri U. Mukherjee, Junior Scientific Assistant and Shri Vincent M. Mechery, Apprentice Scientist, worked under the overall planning and superv ision of Dr. B. Sengupta, Scientist, who has also prepared the report. The help from Haryana State Pollution Control Board specially that of Dr. y .K. Sharma is gratefully acknowledged.
