NOTICE
In
pursuance of the notification issued by the Ministry of Environment & Forests,
Government of India on March 13,1992 [amended vide notification no. GSR 386 (E)
dated April 22,1993] under the Environment (Protection) Rules, 2986 al those carrying
on an industry, operation or process requiring consent to operate under Section
25 of the Water (Prevention & Control Pollution) Act, 1974 (6 of 1974) and/or
under Section 21 of the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 (14
of 1981 and/or authorization under the Hazardous Waste (Management & Handling)
Rules, 1989 issued under the Environment (Protection) Act 1986 (29 of 1986), are
required to submit the Environmental Statement in prescribed form to the concerned
State Pollution Control Boards/ Pollution Control Committees in the Union Territories.
For the current financial year (1994-95), the Environmental Statement
is to be submitted on or before 30 September, 1995. Non-compliance with this mandatory
requirement amounts to violation of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986.
