Foreword
The
Reference Materials (RMs) are interlinked with almost every step
of analytical procedure. Hence, development and proper use of such
materials have become a necessity for quality assurance specially
in chemical measurements.
The Central
Pollution Control Board (CPCB) initiated a programme for bringing
awareness among the environmental laboratories in this regard by
organising the "First National Workshop on Development and Use of
Reference Materials (DUERM-1)" in 1996. This resulted in formation
of a National Task Force for Reference Materials (REMT AF)". The
main objective of REMT AF is to ensure development and use of RMs
in all analytical fields including environment, food, pharmaceutical,
clinical, agriculture, occupationaJ health etc., and its activities
are being co- ordinated by CPCB. While continuing its efforts the
CPCB organised the "Second National Workshop on Development and
Use of Reference Materials (DUREM-2)" during February 10-12, 1999
at New Delhi
