We are grateful to EPTRI for undertaking the onerous task for collection, collation and analysis of data as required for this report. We are indebted to the Municipalities. State Governments, Public Health Engineering Departments and State Pollution Control Boards for extending their cooperation by providing relevant information.

We hope, this report will be useful to all those involved in planning and execution of measures for improving the urban environment.
