Industrial Survey, Union Territory of Delhi

                                                Foreword
To initiate a systematic programme in implementation of pollution control measures by the industries in the Union Territory of Delhi, the regulatory agency must prepare an inventory of industries relevant to water pollution control, arrange them in order of their significance in contribution of pollution and categorize them based on processes, raw materials and products. Such preparation of inventory of industries helped the Central Board for the Prevention and Control of Water Pollution in stream- lining the implementation programme.

This report details the procedure to conduct such industrial inventory survey and provides the information relel/ant to water pollution control. An overall budgetary require- ment is provided to give an idea regarding the cost pollution control for tIle relevant industries in the Union Territory of Delhi.

The three Consultants engaged for the preparation of the inventory were: Chemical and Metallurgical Design Company, Engineers India Limited, Industrial Consulting Bureau, all from New Delhi. Dr. G.D. Agrawal was the Programme Adviser, who guided the work, compiled and prepared the Report.

Dr. D.S. Bhargava, Environmental Engineer, Central Board coordinated the work on behalf of the Central Board till he was with the Central Board. When he left Shri S. Gupta, Environmental Engineer took over the coordination work. Towards the end Shri S.K. Agrawal, Assistant Engineer, carefully scrutinized the report to ensure factual correctness and also took care of proof reading. Shri K. V. Swaminathan and Shri Bidhi Chand carefully typed the manuscript.
