A Method to Determine the Minimum Stack Height

                                       Foreword
The Emission Regulations (Part I) printed in July, 1984 had the guidelines on the minimum stack height for industries. The method for arriving at those values are given in this document.

The usefulness of a model for regulator, purposes depends on how well the principles of pollutant dispersion are used in a method that is free from rigorous computation. It must also be straight-forward for administrative simplicity. The present method is documented keeping these points in view.

It should also be recognized that the improvement of a model depends on testing and changing the same with additional growth of knowledge acquired through practices. I hope this document will serve its specific purpose and the greater objective of a clean environment.
