                                              Foreword

The Dilli-Disang is a tributary to the mighty river Brahmaputra. The industrial activities in the Namrup area in Sibsagar district are causing pollutional stress on the Dilli-Disang. The Central Board through the Assam State Pollution Control Board has been pursuading the industries to control the pollution and its origin.

The present compilation is the first attempt to inventorise the pollution potential and relevant sub-basin-wise characteristics of the Dilli- Disang. This would help in compiling information on the entire Brahma- putra river basin.
