Foreword
This document is the Outcome of detailed studies on various processes and unit operations in dairy industry. The findings of investigations on process particulars and material balance have been outlined in this documentt. The Sources of Pollution and techno-economically feasible options for Waste Water treatment in dairy industry have been identified.

Based on in-depth studies and evaluation of Possible options for reduction of Pollution load, the Minimal National Standards (MINAS) that could be adopted for dairy industry have been recommended in this document.

I Would like to place on record my sincere appreciation for the initiative taken by my Colleagues who cOnstituted a team for this multi-disciplinary exercise.
