Minimal National Standards : Complex Fertilizer Industries (With or Without Nitrogenous and Phosphate Fertilizers)

                                            Foreword

Practicable technology currently available and its economic viability are the basis on which the standards are evolved. Economic viability has been assessed based on cost calculation expressed as total annual burden due to pollution abatement and control as percentage of total annual turnover .

To assess the status and requirements for pollution control in different types of industry, industry specific documents are brought out by the Central Pollution Control Board. These documents entail information on the number of units, their locations, capacities, manufacturing processes, wastewater generation and characteristics, unit processes for treatment and control of pollution. The effluent and emission standards also form part of these documerlts. The present document on Rice Mills is one in the Comprehensive Industry Documents Series (COINDS).

This document is based on the basic report prepared by M/s Environmental Engineers Consortium, Calcutta on an assignment from this Board.
