3.0 MEETINGS OF THE BOARD

During the reporting period (i.e. April 1, 2001 to March 31, 2002), three meetings of the Central Board were held as under :

1. Approach and strategy for reduction of Respirable Suspended Particulate Matter (RSPM) in Ambient Air;
2. Direction to thermal power plant regarding use of beneficiated coal having 34% ash;
3. Restriction on installation of incinerator by individual health care facilities;
4. Review of water quality criteria;
5. Revision of water quality monitoring network and maintenance cost thereof;
6. Approved sampling and analysis charges;
7. Annual Action Plan for 2001-2002, Annual Report 2000-2001 and Report of Working Group on Environment for Tenth Five Year Plan (2002-2007) were approved;
8. Laboratories were recognised under the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 (Annexure VI); and,
9. Revision/amandement regarding effluent standards in case of soda ash industry and pulp & paper industry.
